Brainstorming—

Well, first I liked the idea of a conflictive memory, false memory… [still like it]

Then I thought about horses. [still like it]

After that, I went to see Titanic in the theatre for the first time–literally–and got back into my childhood research (I was fascinated by the sinking long before the movie was a published thought). So I thought about a descendent of a survivor and somehow playing that out, but worried it’d get cheesy. [but still like it]

NOW I’m thinking about creating a character who is a ghostwriter. First I was trying to tie the ghostwriter in with the Titanic story–like maybe the character decided to write books/papers behind the scenes–but I’m starting to lean away from that.

I’m thinking the ghostwriter and false memory idea might do nicely. Bring in the horses. It might even be poetic.

That’s the goal, anyway.

Stay tuned.

NaNoWriMo 2012

It’s still a bit early, but I’m starting to think about what I want to write about this year.

I’m always interested in the idea of memory. I’m thinking of using either a disease of a sort that conflicts with memory or use the idea of false memory–both of which that would be really interesting.

And I’m thinking of something small-town. And horses. Always horses.

Stay tuned.
